Autoplan is a fully autonomous truck aiming at planting trees (poplars). The truck moves autonomously in the field, the user gives poplars to it, and it plants them with a centimetric precision.
The project is lead by Alliance Forêt-Bois. Rhoban looked after all the mechatronic control of the machine, together with locomotion.
With the help of the machine, the user organises the work and provides the trees step by step, and the machine do the hard works like digging holes and sinking the tree into the soil.
Autoplan plants trees in a fully autonomous way.
